Rural and Urban Landscapes in Watercolor
Come learn how to tell a story and add emotion to your urban and rural scenes painted in watercolor. We will break down the various components of both urban and rural landscapes and simplify shapes for vehicles, figures and farm animals. The workshop will focus on composition, aerial perspective, guiding the eye with edges, using correct values, setting the mood with color choices, and adding brush strokes for energy. Beginners to advanced welcome but beginners should have some experience using watercolor with an basic understanding of how it works. You will need to bring your own supplies (see link below for complete list of supplies needed), or supplies can be purchased from the instructor onsite for a fee of $40 for paper, paint and use of equipment during the workshop.

Judy teaches several watercolor classes each week along with occasional workshops. She has studied with today’s best contemporary watercolorists including Charles Reid, Mary Whyte, Alvaro Castagnet, Ted Nuttal and others. She is a Signature Member with the Kentucky Watercolor Society, a juried member of KY Crafted and the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen. She is also a member of Brushes with Nature Plein Air Group, American Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Portrait Society of America and others.
