I learned how to make baskets in 1985 and have been teaching classes since 1990. I started out teaching “at home” classes in Owensboro, Ky. I then started teaching through the Owensboro Adult Education Program where I taught for many years before moving to Lexington, Ky in 2005. While in Owensboro I helped form Woven Together in Western Ky Basket Guild. I taught classes at many guild meetings and also at our yearly basket weaving retreats. For 8 years I had a shop in Owensboro called Reed Ribbon and Silks, where I taught weekly classes. Other places I have taught include Kentucky Basket Maker Association, Spencer Co Basket Weavers, Somerset Weavers and several other small groups and schools. I am a juried member of Kentucky Crafted and a juried artisan for the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.
