Exploring Puppets: Making Hand Puppets
Exploring Puppets: Making Hand Puppets - July 22nd from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Price: $46
Workshop Instructor: Mary Brown and Richard Brown

Participants will be creating either a hand puppet with control rods or a simple glove hand puppet. The participants making the control rod puppet will use some cutting, sewing and hot-gluing techniques. The participants making a glove hand puppet will use fabric markers, glue, and other simple techniques. The puppet type will be determined by the age and skills of the participant. Additional information and demonstrations will be provided on puppet manipulation and use of puppets in a variety of settings. This workshop coordinates with the other three Exploring Puppets workshops (Making Simple Puppets, Making Shadow Puppets and Making Tabletop Theatres).

The Exploring Puppets workshops are designed for teachers, librarians, parents, home-school teachers, religious leaders, and children age 10 to 18. An adult must accompany participants who are under the age of 18 as participants may be using sharp utensils and hot glue guns. A non-paying adult may aid a registered child on only the child’s project.
