Workshop Instructor: Chester Mullins

Berea College Furniture Maker, Chester Mullins, will guide participants through the basic steps of wood turning, including wood selection, proper tool use, basic lathe operation and a variety of wood turning techniques and processes. Each participant will complete at least one turned and finished wooden bowl.

• Location: Mueller Student Crafts Building/Berea College Crafts (Woodcraft) - 100 Student Crafts Court (Formerly Dixie Court) (Workshop is not air conditioned so it may be warm, and is not handicap accessible.)

• Date/Time: July 14th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 6 hours

• Price: $115.00 (Includes all materials, use of tools and equipment.)

• Age: 18 & Up

• Difficulty: Beginner

• Class Size: 6 Max

• Take Home: At least one turned and finished wooden bowl in choice of selected hardwoods.

• Notes: For safety, please wear closed toe shoes - no open toe shoes or sandals allowed. Long hair must be tied back. All safety equipment will be provided.
