Learning to Turn - Spindle Turning

Learn the specific skills and techniques necessary for turning on the lathe. Workshop will focus on spindle turning- the turning used for furniture, balusters, candle sticks, etc. Each student will leave the class having completed a decorative rolling pin in cherry wood. All instruction, tools, materials and necessary safety processes are included in the cost of the class.

• Location: Mueller Student Crafts Building (Woodcraft) - 100 Student Crafts Court (Formerly Dixie Court) (Workshop is not air conditioned so it may be warm, and is not handicap accessible.)

• Date/Time: July 21st OR 28th from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Break: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (1.5 hours)

• Total Hours: 6 hours

• Price: $115.00 (Includes all materials, use of tools and equipment.)

• Age: 18 & Up

• Difficulty: Beginner

• Class Size: 6 Max

• Take Home: One decorative rolling pin in cherry wood.

• Notes: For safety, please wear closed toe shoes - no open toe shoes or sandals allowed. Long hair must be tied back. All safety equipment will be provided.
